Dear Incoming 7th Grade Families and Students,
We’re so excited to kick off the school year with your child’s participation in our 7th Grade Bridge Program. This special week is designed to help our incoming 7th graders get acclimated to Lindblom, learn our school systems and routines, meet staff and potential teachers, and most importantly—begin building community as the Class of 2027 (8th grade) and the Lindblom High School Class of 2031!
We know this email is a bit lengthy, but we kindly ask that you read it carefully as it contains very important information about the program.
Below you’ll find a general overview of the week. Specific group and teacher leader assignments will be sent by Mr. Alaves by the end of the week.
Eagle Eye Overview of Bridge Week
Dates: Monday, July 21 – Thursday, July 24, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM daily
Location: Lindblom Math & Science Academy
Monday, July 21 – Orientation Day (Parents Welcome!)
We invite parents/guardians to join us from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM for a special orientation. Students will stay until 12:30 PM.
The day will include:
-
An overview of Lindblom’s school-wide systems and expectations
-
Jumprope tutorials (our grading platform)
-
Flex period sign-ups for colloquium days
-
Optional IXL Math Diagnostic to assess students for placement in Algebra (for those who may qualify to bypass Pre-Algebra)
While students complete their diagnostic, parents can submit any remaining enrollment paperwork.
If parents and students can not attend this day—make-up sessions for the diagnostic will be offered on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 29 at 9:00 AM. All information from the orientations will be emailed out to parents afterward.
Tuesday, July 22 – Community Building & Campus Exploration
Students will participate in fun community-building activities and a Lindblom scavenger hunt to explore key areas of the building and locate their classrooms for the fall.
Wednesday, July 23 – Executive Functioning & Goal Setting
Students will learn and practice strategies to stay organized and manage deadlines. They’ll set academic goals and get tips on using Google Drive, submitting assignments, and more.
Our Restorative Justice team will also lead a session on what it means to “be a good human” in our school community.
Thursday, July 24 – Field Day!
We’ll wrap up the week with a Field Day at Lindblom Park filled with games, team-building, and fun! In the case of rain, we’ll host the activities indoors.
Participation in Bridge Week is encouraged but not required. If your student is unable to attend, please don’t worry! All information will be shared via email and included in our community newsletters. Additionally, our dedicated 7th grade teachers prioritize relationship-building and will ensure every student feels welcomed and supported during the first weeks of school.
Again, be on the lookout for your child’s group assignment from Mr. Alaves later this week. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
If you are still interested in signing up for 7th grade bridge, here is the google form. If you've already completed the google form, please do not complete it again.
We can't wait to meet our newest Eagles!
Swoop Swoop!
Best,
AP Luke
